A long time ago, I heard someone say that an artist is not a person who can make art, but a person who cannot live without making it. That description has always stayed with me because it perfectly reflects my own experience.
I have been drawn to art since early childhood. There have been several times in my life when I tried to set it aside and focus on other things, but art always found its way back to me. It is not simply a hobby or a profession—it is a deeply rooted part of who I am and how I experience the world.
My work is inspired by my love of nature and by the connections we share with the people and environments around us. I am drawn to quiet moments, changing seasons, familiar landscapes, and the beauty that can be found in everyday life.
While each painting has its own story, my hope is that the work brings a sense of peace, joy, and connection to those who view it. If someone pauses for a moment, feels calmer, remembers a special place, or simply finds a little happiness in one of my paintings, then I feel I have accomplished something meaningful.
I enjoy working with many different mediums, including oil, watercolor, acrylic, and pastel. I am also always open to exploring new materials and techniques, whether through mixed media or other forms of artistic expression. Each medium offers its own unique possibilities and challenges, and I enjoy learning from all of them.
However, oil paint remains my favorite. There is something special about its versatility and depth. It allows me to build layers gradually, create rich textures, and make subtle adjustments throughout the painting process. Unlike many other mediums, oil paint gives me the freedom to slow down, respond to what is happening on the canvas, and let the work evolve naturally.
I especially appreciate that oil painting leaves room for unexpected discoveries and happy accidents. Sometimes the most interesting passages emerge from moments that were never planned. To me, this reflects the spontaneity of nature and life itself—both are constantly changing, unpredictable, and often more beautiful because of it.
Whether I am painting from direct observation, memory, or imagination, I try to balance intention with openness, allowing each painting to find its own path as it develops.
