Your Co-op Needs You
Natural Harvest Food Co-op is growing in both membership and as a leader for healthy living in our Northern Minnesota communities. It is very exciting to see all the great changes coming to Natural Harvest. The board of directors and store management’s working cooperatively has been key to new growth and new ideas at the co-op. A hard working staff and member input continue to strengthen the co-op community at Natural Harvest. As we march on through the summer and into fall, our board elections are top priority for the Natural Harvest board of directors. Our message: “We want you!”
Change is on the horizon, and with change, strong leadership is needed. Our current board is working diligently on the future vision and growth of Natural Harvest. In the coming months, we will be turning to the co-op members for your input and ideas. As we work together to grow the cooperative, having new and diverse leadership will help make the co-op a stronger presence in the surrounding communities by offering more healthy products and education.
The board of directors will have three seats open for the next election. Each seat will have a three-year term commitment. The board meets once a month and works closely with the general manager through store operations and strategic planning. The board governs the co-op with a set of principles called Policy Governance. There is a nine-member board that is very committed to the co-op mission and the well-being of the co-op.
